Converting my 300+ gigs of music onto Opus so I can carry my entire library on the go when I install Graphene.

341 gigs of hi-res lossless.
Currently my phone, carrying a mishmash of hi-res lossless and Opus transcodes, is at ~75 gigs.
The full Opus transcodes is 42.6 gigs, with everything.

Holy fucking shit.

@atlas it makes my music collection tiny by comparison (I only have 20 gigs of music)

@atlas Opus chads stay winning. I should really do the same I've considered it. I did convert a lot of my archived podcasts to opus and they sound fine.

@thegreatape AAC is decent, Vorbis is pretty good, Opus is awesome. I could've done the transcodes at 96kbps and it probably would've sounded fine, but 128kbps VBR is fine for now.

Oh okay it is actually doing the ReplayGain album calculations, it's just gonna take forever to go through my whole library with that. I'll be here for a while.

Neat.
Next question is, how do I put it onto my phone with Syncthing now?

.stignore

Now I just need to compress the resulting Opus files onto an archive and transfer/extract it to my phone because I’m remotely compressing the audio files.

Yep, burned my finger scrolling through all the tracks I now have on my phone, ha. And also, more space free, whilst having more songs.
