@emma it's not that hard, as long as you can get the basics of using the terminal (navigating through the directories and editing files).

@Maholmire But I am, so I'm using it. blobcat3c

To be honest, it took me about a couple of years to get it to get to this point.

@getimiskon @Maholmire @emma there's nothing wrong with using archinstall assuming you actually know how to do it manually anyway

@Maholmire I guess you never tried to put the time and effort for a manual Arch installation. To be honest, I don't mind having a more automated installation process these days. But I won't give up setting up base systems anytime soon.

@f_o_u_r_t_y I agree. But most newbies won't bother with the manual stuff if it's an option by default.

@Maholmire I know. My setup is based on a keyboard-driven workflow, which I consider ideal for a laptop (touchpads suck). Using the same setup won't work for your case.

@emma are games and productivity software really worth the pain Windows causes to its users? blobcatthink

@Maholmire to be honest, arguing about that seems to me that it won't end up anywhere, so the only thing I can say is that if it works for you, it's fine.

@Maholmire I remember starting with Antergos, back in 2017. Its installer sucked, but it was alright. Although it was a bit overwhelming for me to maintain. It took a few years to switch to Arch, and I don't mind having to try a few times to get it working.
