dear websites that have a long dedicated page for which commands to type to install their app on linux depending on which distro (looking at you obs studio): you are seriously fucking up the public perception of linux

USE ONE OF THESE AND SAVE YOURSELF AND THE USER THE EFFORT:

@nano the next thing we need on linux (not) is an "Applications" directory, where you can drag and drop the executable (appimages seem fine for that i guess) and install the program there neocat_googly_blep

@usagi@moe.onl @nano@social.nano.lgbt i agree, but mostly for different reasons. i don't use flatpaks, and don't bother having flatpak installed. for me, it's really "why would i separate my packages into 2 different package managers, go through the trouble of fixing the permissions, and deal with the extra trouble to run them via flatpak instead of normal commands, for such little benefit?"

and there are far too often programs that are only available via flatpak for no good reason, and with no script to build it "natively", so-to-speak, for any other distro.
