@catsalad@infosec.exchange everything is a pillow if you're brave enough

Or if you have a fireproof head in this case

@catsalad Shit like this is why my local waste disposal & recycling center has a huge-ass & dry sandbox to put in!

@catsalad Personally, I hate / / cells and the only batteries I don't consider an instant fire hazard are cells...

Sadly neither nor see it the same way!

@catsalad but yeah, those are so dangerous, my local fire department doesn't do the version of the "Don't put water of burning oil!" PSA demonstration with those because the white fumes before those cells burn is actually hydrofluoric acid and that cloud is just too nasty to expose a crowd to even for the clout of having a good video and presentation of it.

And also whilst Hazmat suits protect against tuat shit, they ain't rated for the "radiant" heat of a burning metal fire that can't be extinguished at all but merely choked by virtue of "glassing" aka. Thowing try srandbags on it and let the heat melt the sand into a blob of glass that can then be safely deposited in a sandbox and monitored until it's cold.

Serioisly, Lithium Battery Fires are a shitshow no firefighter wants to see because there's a high chance of getting exposed to hydrofluoric acid and unless one wants to get hundreds of stabbings with neutralizing solution at every bone they'll run into the risk of getting the worst pain in their lives with no help available even by hospitals shoving them fentanyl intravenously.

And yes, that's the kind of shit that even gets the most laid-back chemist grab a hazmat suit!
