@soatok it's a grim situation that people can't publically talk about stuff like that in the walled gardens. And the thing is that speaking about historical stuff or just criticizing current issues is being punished. Especially YouTube feels like it's trying to make something that vaguely resembles a "safe space", but doing so in a way that's meaningless at best and actually harmful at worst.

@getimiskon @soatok they're trying to make it a safe space for advertising companies, not people.
that, i think, is the key difference between what the corpos are doing to the concept of safe spaces and what safe spaces actually are.

@LexYeen that's the problem. And in the process of making an ad-friendly (actually ad-infested) and corpo-friendly platform, they just make less space for people who actually use the platform. At the end, there won't be many people, other than those who run the "content mills" and those who for some reason enjoy the what content mills publish. And bots. Tons of bots.
