@fbievan and they say "why do you hate youtube?"
i don't hate the platform itself, but i hate what it became. Because it isn't the same youtube i used to spend lots of time there. It got much worse for no real reason.

@iska oh, yeah, you're right.
How to punish a bad government? By punishing the people who happen to live there, of course!

@getimiskon i will personally buy a whole ip range if i have to
omada's invidious takes up around 250-500 gigabytes a month
60 different ip addresses have been used, a bad solution after all 60 ip addresses were blocked
Google is still incompotent ablobcatgooglyblep

@meow i'll be honest, people who care about watching videos on youtube will just give up on that bot-infested, totally enshittified platform.

@getimiskon@fedi.getimiskon.xyz i find it unlikely that that would happen anytime soon. there is no real alternative for people to use, so google can do basically whatever the fuck they want and people are forced to continue using youtube if they want to have any reach as a creator

@meow this is the problem, and to make matters worse, even if you use their website without an account, you'll still get blocked because they think you might be a bot. They say they want to protect their community, a community they rarely care about, and when they do, the damage has already been done.

@getimiskon yeah — YouTube has eras, now it's kinda a mix of all those eras tbh

Also YouTube as a cooperation has changed alot, and I assume Google is pushing for YouTube to be profitable lol
