General impressions:

Cosmic works, feels really nice, but does not look beautiful (missing animations, no theming for qt/gtk, visual bugs, etc.).

Also some bugs, and settings that are either missing from GUI, or janky, or exist because of junkiness instead of being intended.

I'll actually try using it as daily driver, though I would probably need to do some manual QT/GTK theming.

@untsuki i haven't tried that, but from what i have seen it looks quite GNOME-esque.

@getimiskon It is, but, like, in less annoying way, since it basically recreates Pop_OS!'s GNOME+Extensions workflow without GNOME.

But also it has more customization options, and they are more Cinnamon-esque than anything.

@getimiskon
And also, it's still an "Alpha" version, basically for early testers, but it seems for System76 "Alpha" means what KDE devs would call a "release candidate" nko3c

@untsuki so, Cinnamon-esque with the look of GNOME. Not a bad idea.

@getimiskon It has it's own stuff too, like built-in tiling mode, and their own apps with a small menubar they put in a GNOME-like titlebar.

Honestly, it looks like an almost-perfect fit for me, as I am a fan of tiling inside of an actual DE, and this has it well-integrated with both keyboard and mouse controls. cirno_comfy
