@foxhkron what really sucked is that we use object storage to backup our instance - but without the management panel I could not access any backup floofWoozy_256

will you stay with contabo or look for another provider? it might be subjective, but I think the VPS gets slower in the evening German time and it sucks.

@kaia@brotka.st @foxhkron@cybre.club may i recomend haveing your backups at a different provider, or at least in a different account?
because otherwise, if the disaster is "they delete my account ", everything would be gone

@kaia@brotka.st My Firefish is on a Hetzner VPS already. I only use Contabo to offload some things like NGINX and media, but I am thinking of moving everything Firefish related entirely to Hetzner now.

There's a high likelihood that Contabo does that. I know for sure that BuyVM does limit IO on slabs and likely does the same on normal VPS drives. If you have some monitoring on the server you can correlate that somewhat easily.

As for recommendations. There aren't that much VPS providers that don't suck. Hetzner wanted my ID which is a big no-no.
OVH has been running my test instance for over a month without any problems, but they are on the pricier side.
BuyVM/Frantech is fine for small services only, FluffyTail barely runs.
Terrahost is good I've heard, but also pricier.
