to those on fedi who are into cooking, what ingredients you use frequently?

Here's what i use: onion, tomato paste, oil, salt, pepper, bay leaves and garlic

@getimiskon i need to get more into cooking, but onions garlic peeled/pureed tomatoes salt pepper crushed red pepper and rice (not in any particular order or combination)

@getimiskon you can add a range of spices in your cooking... Cinnamon stick and allspice (you can use them in minced meat when you cook it for spaghetti) red pepper (sweet, smocked or hot), oregano, basil, parsley, carry, spearmint, anise, rosemary etc

@akko i see. Cooking can calm me down at times.
Personally, i don't like rice. Don't know how to get it right, also most of the time i get to have rice, it tastes bland and i hate it.

@Utopia i just mentioned the stuff i use the most, although i use a bunch of spices, like allspice, oregano, sweet paprika and parsley, depending on what i'm cooking

@getimiskon one thing I've picked up is adding like 0.5-1 part vinegar to 3 parts water depending on taste and salt into the water (dunno if this helps?), and it is hard to cook right i know I still can't just_like_me_frfr
