really wish there were well designed laptops that aren’t old enough to be outperformed by a cheap phone
My GNUbooted thinkpad outperforms many cheap ARM SoC’s.
Not anymore, lmao. Core 2 duos are mogged even by the cheapest phones you can buy, not even mentioning the GPU.

@phnt framework is a meme, they don’t even have balls for a non-chinklet keyboard
geekbench
Give me a better benchmark database running on free software.
not that cheap 8 core
This SoC is cheap enough to be in every $80-160 chinkphone, and “octa-core” has been a standard for a decade. It’s also effectively dual-core as using over 2 threads will hurt performance, so the comparison was fair

I didn’t know the T400 could be modded with a quad. With this, the laptop can barely match that G99 at under 2 hours of battery life!
My mid-range phone gets a score of 11201, matching the Pi 5. You could buy these for $60 (used) and $100 respectively.
And your thinkpad still cannot run OpenGL 3.3, let alone Vulkan
Try running and using the Church of Emacs on a thinkpad vs a demon rectangle - I reckon the thinkpad will be faster.
Emacs is single-threaded, so the cheap phone will outperform the Core 2 Quad even with extra overheads. The laptop’s real advantage is having a real keyboard.
I haven’t had any issues with battery life, as I plug in after 15 or so minutes of usage.
you really just admitted you never go outside AHAHAHAHAH
Big deal - software properly programmed for newer versions of OpenGL works fine with just a few less effects.
Try running Kandria on it
