@nishi Because it’s mean.
I tried ghost bsd, was that a bad idea? I looked into which bsd was the most smooth brain friendly.

@raccoon I see. When I ran GhostBSD my laptop's Wi-Fi card and dedicated graphics were unsupported, while everything else worked just fine (I have an external Wi-Fi dongle that just works). Also when I used it, about a year ago, the preinstalled wireless network utility was garbage. I don't know if they have change it in the latest version.

@getimiskon @nishi
I was mostly looking for a very stable OS to install alongside artix in case I need to access to files if the system breaks and I gotta fix it. If bsd doesn’t go well I’ll install something else. Debian is surely an option, it doesn’t get safer than that.

@raccoon @nishi are we all just installing BSD systems this weekend? FreeBSD install was a breeze aside from my wifi adapter not being supported :^)

@raccoon @nishi I’m a seasoned linux user and I was pretty confused on how drivers are loaded directly through kernel config files… if only I could get wifi to work on my laptop. This is why I stick with void

If you're a seasoned Linux user then that'll explain why you don't know where a clitoris is lmao.

@teratology @raccoon I'm talking about Mac OS. Yes, I have a copy of it that runs on my machine. Also it's a bit outdated, but that's what I know it works.

@raccoon @getimiskon @nishi Dont use ghost or a "distro" of bsd, try free since its the most linux like.

@teratology as I said, I have an external one that works well. And the funny thing is that when I got it, back in 2017, it barely had support for Linux.
