@atlas_core@pl.starnix.network I remember seeing that apparently I could somehow un-brick the mouse with a seperate computer and registry hacking on the first, but I didn't have a second computer, and probably broke the windows install, at some point I stopped bothering because the $5 office mouse was enough.

@iska @getimiskon I learnt that the hard way: Razer.
Their fucking scroll things are awful; keyboard's volume scroll fucks up, mouse scroll wheels (plural!) also fuck up. You could scroll downwards for eternity only for it to somehow bump back up right where you were through the way.

@atlas_core @iska @getimiskon My Logitech G502 is 10 years old and my cheap Patriot mechanical keyboard is 5 years old. Never had problems with both. Meanwhile pretty much all Razer products my friends had broke after 2-3 years. It's not that all gaming peripherals are bad, most companies just produce garbage all the time.

@phnt it's not just peripherals. Recently the hinge of my headphones broke and replacing that will be a pain in the ass.

@getimiskon @iska @atlas_core "Gaming" (used very liberally) headphones are in my opinion the exception. All of them suck. They are made from flimsy plastic, have bad sound stage and bad mics. The only model I had somewhat good experience was HyperX Cloud (1st gen).
Just buy cheap Audio-Technica headphones with a cheap USB desktop microphone.
