@sleepybisexual@fearness.org @mystie@social.nano.lgbt literally anything that runs lxqt/lxde/mate out of the box, if it has a 32-bit release that means it should be even lighter

@witix you forgot xfce, it runs nicely on older machines. Unfortunately, as far as i know, there are only a few distros that still have a 32-bit version.

@getimiskon@fedi.getimiskon.xyz @sleepybisexual@fearness.org @mystie@social.nano.lgbt debian always had support for 32-bit and it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere soon, and I genuinely respect them for that
Though that was only something to look out for, because if an OS is officially supported on 32-bit then it's certainly tailored for older computers
Also yes xfce, hard to name all the lightweight DE's from the top of my head
Cinnamon is kind of nice too, though in terms of lightweightness it's more of a compromise between "I don't exactly need it to be lightweight" and "please don't take my processor"

@witix technically even KDE Plasma could be at this position, considering that they actually tried to improve it to run on machines with fewer resources. Although i'm not sure if Plasma 6 requires more resources.

@sleepybisexual KDE is nice. Personally i use a standalone window manager these days, or xfce. But cinnamon is nice too.
