curseforge fucking sucks

i tried to get a modpack from there once using prism launcher and it was all like “you need to download these mods manually” because curseforge doesnt let third party launchers use their api like that or something because they have their own dogshit launcher now

and curseforge makes you wait like 84 seconds for your download link to “generate”

like how about you fuck off and stop existing because modrinth has you by the balls i hate you

modrinth has their own launcher but they support and directly promote other launchers like prism launcher

stop fucking using curseforge its not 2012 anymore

also fuck optifine its done nothing but cause a decade a problems for modders because the developer is a selfish money-hungry cunt that just wants to show you ads and charge you $10 for a stupid cape. use a fabric modpack like fabulously optimised, your game will run Even Better, be compatible with almost all other fabric mods, and it wont lazily break minecraft’s math

the minecraft ecosystem is A Changin’ and it is time to let go. we have a new, better optimized, better programmed, free and open source modding ecosystem now. forge and optifine should be as obsolete as mcpatcher was in 2012 and its Archaic that they’re stil kicking because people are scared of change or whatever

sorry for the rant im just so sick of people asking me if i want to play a modpack with them and then telling me to go install curseforge’s crappy app and linking me to a curseforge page for a forge modpack that says in big red letters “DOES NOT SUPPORT OPTIFINE!!!” especially when im armed with the knowledge that optifine is only poorly supported in the forge ecosystem because sp14x wants to keep his code proprietary and obfuscated so he can serve people more fucking ads and $10 capes

fabric, the mods available for it, and modrinth are the greatest things to ever happen to minecraft

@nano the next big thing that would happen after fabric is for modders to actually rewrite the minecraft's code and assets from scratch, but much better (AND free and open source)

@getimiskon @nano We already have two fully open source server implementations, one with approximation of vanilla minecraft and the other with ability to add anything that would be a plugin directly.

Now we need a client implementation, and probably support for fabric mods on both sides, and hopefully at some point minecraft itself will only be needed for assets if you need original ones.
