I’m slightly surprised you added the emacs emoji to this instance.

@cinerion I need that. Also there's the "uwu" that's based on the other emacs logo and I can't find it anywhere.

@dushman I don’t think the bloat is an issue considering what it tries to be. You can delete most packages in a base installation and do just fine. They are not (require)d heh.

@cinerion
I mean I need a text editor for editing text not for browsing websites or whatever useless feature emacs includes by default

@cinerion it displayed a stylized "uwu" in a similar style to the classic Emacs logo.

@dushman If you need just a text editor use ed(1) and throw away the bloat that is vim lain_smug4

@getimiskon @cinerion
Seriously though I don’t mind it lol. I just don’t personally like it and won’t use it.

@dushman it's ok, it's not the best. I have told many times I'm using both vim and emacs for different things. But nano is haram.

@getimiskon @cinerion
If someone is new to Linux and wants to use a more advanced text editor I tell them to use vim cuz it’s the best imo

@dushman well, it's better to start with vim in my opinion. Emacs just doesn't have sane defaults.

@getimiskon @dushman They were sane 40 years ago. They are pretty insane now, but i just couldn’t be bothered to change them. It has instead changed me troll_insane

@dushman @getimiskon Yeah, since 2021. I used vim before that since 2016, iirc.

@olmitch @getimiskon @cinerion
Not saying it’s bad but it probably has a good chunk of features missing in comparison

@dushman @getimiskon @cinerion soon, soon the WebKit port will be perfected, and there will be no reason to use another OS. It already has robust WINE support using native widgets instead of the Windows one. I'm sure they'll get around to a Linux compatibility module eventually. Muah ha ha.

@dushman @cinerion @getimiskon what I really meant was soon it will be possible to watch live streams without it fucking up. I tried to stream something on rumble and it was half speed audio, and Vaughn Live got stuck on the browser check, on gnome web for haiku
