@re9177 i see... it sucks that it asks to get the game assets separately, while OpenTTD just works.

@getimiskon@fedi.getimiskon.xyz the game is still being sold on GOG.com hence the reason why they aren't preincluded, also you can get "demo" version of the game from https://files.xoti.net/rollercoaster-tycoon-2/demos/rct2-triple-thrill-pack-demo/ (there is no such thing as RCT2 demo) if you want full game files for completely free, has expansion packs inside as well lol

@re9177 @getimiskon (ut99 you get the demo and then the patch to 451, then you have the full game)

@allison@hidamari.apartments @getimiskon@fedi.getimiskon.xyz in this case, the rct2 """demo"" has the game exe wrapped in some crappy armadillo drm powered free trial thing which gets flagged as an trojan by most antiviruses as an bonus, you can get the unpacked exe by opening your task manager of choice and then fetch the exe that's actually running the game and copy it over, rename to rct2.exe and off you go the other alternative is gamecopyworld

@re9177 @getimiskon I wonder how many other game demos were like this back in the day? I know Gettysburg demo had the full game data but it was a little more involved to crack (Fravia had a tutorial for it on his website back in the 90s)
