Like yeah sure it’s not rly communist now, but it used to be, and it didn’t go as well either.
I believe in socialism and perhaps different forms of communism as well (like I said, I am not huge into politics), but from historical viewpoint it did kinda go poorly.
I personally dislike that symbol myself cus Russia was using that symbol during all it’s bad stuffness back then (idk about current times, I think some tanks had that symbol but like this doesn’t mean shit, I mean China also calls itself communist lmao).
I really don’t mean this as a some sort of argument, I’m more into understanding all that stuff.

So you have a problem when someone uses the hammer and sickle for a shitpost and yet you have absolutely no problem with supporting imperialist creation made to defend the American world hegemony and increase international support for genocidal regimes? Using your own argument about Ukrainians - What would you say to Iraqi children who get their entire family bombed bombed by fucking NATO drones while you wave their flag? And using the "black book of communism" type of numbers capitalism kills 15-20 million people every year (these are people who die in capitalism due to starvation, even tho we have more than enough food for everybody, dehydration, while companies like nestle or coca cola take away their water and easily curable diseases, even tho medicine for them could easily be produced even on site if these weren't companies secrets). And all of that is being currently defended by your favorite NATO. And who would you support if there comes a day that one of the horizontal structures grows so big that it threatens the capitalism so much that NATO nations together decide to crush it?
Of course, you can't just disband NATO in our current world like that. But saying that "you are a fan of it" is something absolutely different. Just like you might say you can't just disband an X nation without building any horizontal structures to replace it (as that wouldn't be beneficial for anyone) and that doesn't make you a fan of X nation.
Also - reclamation of symbols is absolutely fucking great. While I personally don't think it is worth to do with hammer and sickle I totally respect people who do it. It once used to represent the unity between peasants and proletariat and then it got seized by authoritarians as it was a good symbol for propaganda. And before you say something stupid like "would you respect (for example) Hindu reclamation of swastika?" yes I absolutely would, as long as it is done in the way that most of the people know what they mean by that, as this symbol absolutely should belong to Hindu people and not to nazi cucks who don't even use it anyways as they prefer their dog whistles like celtic cross as they have to hide their actual worldview because they would never get any support if they didn't.

i don't like capitalism or a hierarchies in society, but if i am ever forced to choose being an underling of the united states or a new born soviet union, i will pick the united states 100/100
the soviet union was utterly abominable and it was entirely the reason why all of eastern europe rushed to join nato after the fall of the ussr
this tendency of russia to force the world between polar opposites is glaringly obvious the last two years in ukraine, and i will support nato and ukraine till whatever end
