11/3. What's the best money you ever spent as a writer?

I draft "by hand" (by claw?) but one of the frustrating phenomenon about that is trying to sharpen pencils, because most pencils are garbage & most sharpeners are also garbage. That makes a small experience incredibly frustrating that is not conducive to freely flowing prose.

I have a friend who supports my nice pencil habit, thankfully, but I invested in my own nice sharpener. Mechanical, not electric!

I like a good, sturdy object.

This might be jumping the fun on another question but it bears mentioning the 10 things I *regret* spending money on as a writer:

1. Graduate school.
2. Graduate school.
3. Graduate school.
4. Graduate school.
5. Graduate school.
6. Graduate school.
7. Graduate school.
8. Graduate school.
9. Graduate school.
10. Graduate school.
