@NeonPurpleStar i know, and i think i'm lucky to keep my stuff running for that long without many issues. The thing is that there are lots of like-minded people who for many reasons can't keep up. Depending on the services, hosting and maintaining them can be difficult, especially when it comes to social media, chatting services etc. Moderation is a challenging task that must be done, and not everyone can deal with it, especially on places where everyone can easily create an account. That's why i still don't completely open my services to the public. Because the cost and the work to maintain and moderate a service like that can be too much.

@NeonPurpleStar yeah... even having control of my own online service, doesn't mean i control much, because there are many layers that aren't under my control, like the machine i'm using, the internet provider etc. It's a mess and there's an increasing lack of trust that gets worse and worse, because of the way big platforms are being run. And that gets translated to a distrust of less-known services, even when those who run are honest on how the data of their users are handled.

@NeonPurpleStar i barely remembered the name. Anyways...
The thing is that either you try to host your data on a machine that you can control, or you're at the mercy of someone who can run that kind of service. That's how it works, unfortunately.

@sigmasternchen yeah, that makes sense. Personally i think vigilantism is more of a desperate move to bring some change in a bad situation as quickly as possible, that wouldn't have been done otherwise. Not that it's the best way to do things, of course.

Γενικά τα πανηγύρια δε με τρελαίνουν, εκτός αν είμαι με παρέα και έτσι. Αλλιώς με τίποτα.

@sigmasternchen yeah, in a democratic state, skipping the democratic process is a bad idea. But not everyone lives in a democratic state, you know. And when you live under that situation, being a vigilante can be your only option. Of course, it comes with its consequences. We can't disagree on that.
