@Linux_Is_Best i'm not heavily into the mindset of GNU, but they have a point. But the reality is pretty much what you said. The people chose that, although i'm nkt sure if they were aware of any alternative in the first place.
As for paid/proprietary software, as long as the software is good for my needs, i would use it.
As for BSDs, they have a different mindset than GNU. And yes, i'm aware of the hardware issues (that honestly sucks). To be fair, i can try a BSD system because i know it runs on my hardware with very few issues (also with a few workarounds), considering i have tried running both macOS and FreeBSD-based systems on the same machine. There is no one-fits-all system, no matter how some people try.

@Linux_Is_Best i see. i use Linux as my daily driver as well, and i get why people would run Windows for a few specific applications (that's why i reinstalled windows on my machine after a long time ago). But the thing is that it keeps getting in my way all the time and it's so annoying, it doesn't worth keeping it on my drive. Unfortunately, that's the case with lots of OSes, especially proprietary ones, and it only gets worse.

@Linux_Is_Best yeah, that's nonsense, so i completely removed the OS from my system. Also considering removing the hackintosh setup that replaced it with some BSD variant. Maybe OpenBSD, i dunno. Proprietary OSes suck balls now.
